Delete Your Ascribed Account

This page applies to the Ascribed app (com.ascribed.app) by Ascribed Apps LLC, on iOS and Android.

You can delete your Ascribed account at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what happens to your data when you do. For the full picture of how Ascribed handles your information, see our Privacy Policy.

If you have the app installed

Deletion is built into the app itself:

Settings → Account → Delete account

If you own any Prayer Circles, you'll be asked to transfer ownership to another member or delete each Circle before your account can be deleted. The app walks you through this step by step.

What deletion does

Everything that identifies you is permanently removed. Your account, sign-in credentials, and all data tied to your identity are deleted from our servers. This cannot be undone.
Prayers you shared to a Prayer Circle remain with the Circle. The people praying over them keep that shared history, but your name is removed and those prayers are re-attributed to “Former Member.” They are no longer connected to you in any way.
Your personal prayer journals are yours and stay yours. Personal prayer data lives in your own iCloud or Google Drive account, not on our servers. Deleting your Ascribed account does not touch it.
Confession data is erased from your device. Confession entries never leave your device, and account deletion wipes them from it.
Your subscription is not cancelled automatically. Deleting your account does not stop billing. Cancel your subscription separately through the App Store or Google Play.

If you've already uninstalled the app

You can request deletion without reinstalling. Email us:

support@ascribed.app — subject line: Account Deletion Request

Send the request from the email address associated with your account (the address you used with Sign in with Apple, Google, or email sign-in). We will verify the request is genuinely yours, then complete the deletion manually, with the same outcome described above. Requests are completed within 30 days, and we'll confirm by email when it's done.

A note before you go

Deletion is permanent. If you simply want a break, you can uninstall the app instead — your account and your Circles will be waiting if you return.
