Welcome to Ascribed. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Ascribed Apps LLC ("Ascribed," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Ascribed mobile application and related services (the "App").
By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Ascribed. By using the App, you confirm that you are 13 or older and that you are able to enter into this agreement. If you are using Ascribed on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization.
Some features require an account, which you create by signing in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us at support@ascribed.app if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
You may delete your account at any time from within the App.
Ascribed is built to help you record and reflect on your prayer life. The prayers, notes, and other content you create ("Your Content") belong to you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content.
As explained in our Privacy Policy, most of Your Content is stored in your own cloud account (Apple iCloud or Google Drive) or only on your device (Confession data). We do not access or control that content.
The limited exception is content you choose to share in a Prayer Circle, which is stored on our systems so it can be shown to the members of that Circle. By sharing content in a Circle, you grant us permission to store and display that content to the members of that Circle for the purpose of operating the feature. You remain responsible for what you choose to share.
Prayer Circles are shared spaces built on trust. Your use of Circles is also governed by the Community Standards shown in the App, which are part of these Terms by reference.
In keeping with those standards, you agree not to post or share content that is:
Reporting and moderation. You can report objectionable content using the report option on any shared prayer or encouragement, and you can block any user, which immediately hides their content from you. Circle owners can remove members. We review reports and act on them — including removing content and accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Standards — and we aim to review reports within 24 hours.
We reserve the right to remove content and to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Standards, at our discretion, to keep Circles safe.
Ascribed offers optional paid subscriptions that unlock premium features. Purchases are made through, and billed by, the Apple App Store or Google Play, according to the plan you select:
Free trial. If you start a subscription with a free trial, you will not be charged during the trial period. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription will begin and you will be charged the applicable price.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current term ends. Your payment method will be charged the then-current price for the renewal.
Managing and cancelling. You manage, cancel, or change your subscription through your Apple or Google account settings — not within Ascribed directly. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
Refunds. Because billing is handled by Apple and Google, refunds are subject to their policies. Please direct refund requests to the applicable store.
Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Where required, we will give notice, and changes will not affect the term you have already paid for.
Ascribed uses an AI service to power certain optional features, such as suggesting a word for God's character when you mark a prayer answered, sorting spoken prayers into categories, and categorizing entries.

The App itself — including its name, design, features, and content we provide (but excluding Your Content) — is owned by Ascribed Apps LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App for its intended purpose. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding.
Ascribed relies on third-party services (including Apple, Google, Firebase, Anthropic, and RevenueCat) to operate. Your use of those services through the App may also be subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability or changes may affect the App.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that it will meet your expectations.
You are responsible for maintaining your own copies of Your Content through your cloud provider.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ascribed Apps LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the App.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ascribed Apps LLC and its owner from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of content you post, your misuse of the App, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others. This is intended to protect Ascribed from responsibility for how individual users choose to use the App.
If you download Ascribed from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Ascribed Apps LLC only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it, and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Similar acknowledgments apply to Google for downloads from Google Play. Your use of each store is also subject to that store's own terms.
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or the Community Standards, or as needed to protect the App or its users.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
